About Mahavir Mandir

Mahavir Mandir is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Hanuman ji located in the city of Patna. This temple was originally established by Swami Balananda who belonged to Ramanandi sect. The present temple was renovated between 30 November and 4 March 1985. There are two idols of Hanumanji in the main temple, one for the protection of the good and the other for the destruction of the wicked.

This is a wish temple, where every wish of the devotees is fulfilled. This temple, associated with the faith of millions of devotees, is known for its religious importance and beliefs. On the occasion of Ramnavami, most devotees come here to have darshan.

Architecture of Mahavir Mandir

The temple is spread over an area of about ten thousand square feet and the building has two floors. The temple was renovated with a building made of marble. Mahavir temple architecture is Nagara style which is popular in North India.

  1. Many people visit this temple on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.
  2. There is also a temple of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, and Durga Mata in the premises of this temple.
  3. The entrance of Mahavir Mandir Patna is in the north direction. There are many facilities like clean water for shoe keeping, foot and hand wash.
  4. To the left of the entrance, there are steps on a high platform leading to the sanctum. This sanctum is the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Hanuman.
  5. Another feature of Mahavir Mandir Patna is the offerings that they offer to the deities.
  6. There is a big idol of Tulsidas inside the temple complex.
  7. The walls of the temple are filled with various images of Ramayana. The floor of the temple complex is made of marble with beautiful designs.
  8. At the top of the temple are sacred shiny brass arts which are easily visible from the surrounding areas.
