About Bharat Mata Temple

Bharat Mata Mandir Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is located in the premises of Kashi Vidyapeeth, and is one of the most visited tourist places of Varanasi. Bharat Mata Mandir was built by Babu Shiv Prasad Gupta and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936. This temple is dedicated to Mother India and in place of traditional idols of deities, this temple has a huge map of undivided India carved in marble.

The map present in Bharat Mata Mandir shows the united India before independence. Plains, hills and oceans are all detailed on the map, that is, with absolute latitude and longitude. The perfect scaling of the map in the temple can amaze any visitor.

The structure of Bharat Mata Temple is made of stone. It has an idol of Bharat Mata made of marble, which is a symbol of undivided India.
