About Lower Lake

The lower lake was constructed in the year 1794 on the orders of Chhote Khan, the minister of Nawab Hayat Muhammad Khan Bahadur, to beautify the city. This beautiful lake is situated in an environment surrounded by beautiful hills which is also known as Chhota Talab. The lake was formed by combining several wells. An over bridge called Pul Pukhta separates the lower lake from the upper lake. The view of the lake is very artistic and attracts tourists as it is surrounded by the beautiful Kamala Garden.

Apart from the amazing view, there are many water sports facilities available for the adventure lovers like jet skiing, speed boat ride, ride as well as parasailing.

The lower lake is spread in an area of 1. 29 square km, with a depth of 6 meters or 20 feet.

By Bus
Bhopal Habibganj-ISBT Bus Stand is near the lake which is 2.2 km away.
By Rail
The nearest railway station to the lake is Bairagarh railway station, which is 1.8 km away, from here one can easily reach the lake by taking a rickshaw.
By Air
The distance between the lake and the Raja Bhoj International Airport is 11.1 km, from here you can easily get a cab or taxi from which you can go.
By Metro
AIIMS Metro Station is 19.8 km away from the lake.
