Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center and Ashram is part of the larger Sivananda organization, founded by Swami Sivananda in the early 20th century. The teachings of Swami Sivananda emphasized yoga, meditation and the path of self-realization. All the activities of Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center are based on five principles which are proper breathing (Pranayama), proper diet (Vegetarian), positive thinking and meditation (Vedanta and Dhyana), proper relaxation (Savasana), proper exercise (Asana). The college has organized workshop programs on Victory over Anger, Mantra and Kirtan, Prana the Vital Energy etc.
