About Kamla Nehru Ridge

The Kamla Nehru Ridge is part of the Delhi Ridge Forest, Northern Ridge. The area, spread over 87 hectares, is a green area within Delhi's urban landscape, providing a haven for wildlife and a place for people to enjoy nature, hiking and historical exploration. In particular the ridge assumes significance in relation to the Indian Rebellion of 1857 (also known as the Indian Mutiny or Sepoy Mutiny). The ridge was a key point in the Battle of Delhi, a crucial phase of the rebellion. The ridge was held by Indian sepoys and mutineers who were resisting British forces trying to recapture Delhi. However now it has turned into a peaceful place for contemplation and enjoyment for both the locals and the visitors.
