- Delhi Metro's Green Line is a completely elevated line.
- This metro line runs mostly along the busy NH 9 route in North Delhi and North West Delhi, bypassing Tikri Border to enter Bahadurgarh.
- It is the first Delhi metro line based on standard gauge. A standard gauge railway is a track that is 1,435 mm (4 ft 8½ in) wide.
- The line was opened in two stages: the 15.1 km Inderlok – Mundka section opening on 3 April 2010, 3.5 km Kirti Nagar – Ashok Park Main branch line on 27 August 2011.
- Delhi Metro currently has parking facilities at 10 metro stations of the Green Lines.
- A Green Line extension, partially approved till Asaudha. Now from Bahadurgarh to Asaudha railway station section, to connect with Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor.
- The security of the Green Line is handled by Central Industrial Security Force.
Delhi Metro Green Line extension in Phase IV
Under Phase-IV, the Green Line will be extended to connect Indralok to Indraprastha. Plans were finalised for implementation by the Delhi government in December 2018. Construction is expected to begin in 2024, as part of the fourth phase of the Delhi Metro's development, and is expected to be completed by 2029. The 12.37-km-long extension will add 10 new stations, providing connectivity between western, central and eastern Delhi.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Managing Director Vikas Kumar said that several countries, including Israel, Egypt and Kenya, have approached DMRC for cooperation in metro projects. The corporation now plans to expand its international presence through a dedicated overseas branch to generate additional revenue to modernize the capital's aging infrastructure.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Thursday that metro services on select corridors will resume at 6 a.m. on Sunday to facilitate candidates appearing for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). According to the DMRC, train services from the terminal stations of Line 7 (Pink Line), Line 8 (Magenta Line), and Line 9 (Grey Line) will begin one hour earlier than the normal Sunday timings on May 24. However, in view of the UPSC preliminary examination, services will begin at 6 a.m. and will run every 15 minutes until 7 a.m. After that, services will resume as per the normal Sunday schedule, the DMRC said. The corporation stated that this arrangement has been made to ensure smooth travel for candidates so that they can reach their examination centers on time without any inconvenience. It further stated that services on all other metro lines will continue as per the regular Sunday schedule from 6 a.m.
The Namo Bharat extension will connect Rajasthan with Delhi. This semi-high-speed rail line will connect Alwar to New Delhi through a modern regional transportation system. The project has been moved forward after Rajasthan and Haryana agreed on the corridor plan. Once completed, Namo Bharat trains will run between Delhi and Alwar, making travel in the NCR region faster and easier. The corridor will begin at Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and pass through Munirka, Aerocity, Gurugram, Bawal, SNB, Khairthal, and Alwar. Another section from SNB will extend to Sotanalat via Neemrana and Behror. This corridor will facilitate traffic between Delhi and major industrial cities of Rajasthan and Haryana.
