Delhi Metro Pink Line extension in Phase IV
The Delhi Metro has announced plans to extend the Pink Line by 12.55 km in Phase IV of its expansion. The line will be extended to Maujpur-Babarpur, creating one of the world's longest ring lines in the city. The line will have eight new metro stations, taking the total number of stations to 47.
The Maujpur-Babarpur to Shiv Vihar section will then serve as a branch line. Its extension is expected to be completed by March 2025.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Managing Director Vikas Kumar said that several countries, including Israel, Egypt and Kenya, have approached DMRC for cooperation in metro projects. The corporation now plans to expand its international presence through a dedicated overseas branch to generate additional revenue to modernize the capital's aging infrastructure.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Thursday that metro services on select corridors will resume at 6 a.m. on Sunday to facilitate candidates appearing for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). According to the DMRC, train services from the terminal stations of Line 7 (Pink Line), Line 8 (Magenta Line), and Line 9 (Grey Line) will begin one hour earlier than the normal Sunday timings on May 24. However, in view of the UPSC preliminary examination, services will begin at 6 a.m. and will run every 15 minutes until 7 a.m. After that, services will resume as per the normal Sunday schedule, the DMRC said. The corporation stated that this arrangement has been made to ensure smooth travel for candidates so that they can reach their examination centers on time without any inconvenience. It further stated that services on all other metro lines will continue as per the regular Sunday schedule from 6 a.m.
The Namo Bharat extension will connect Rajasthan with Delhi. This semi-high-speed rail line will connect Alwar to New Delhi through a modern regional transportation system. The project has been moved forward after Rajasthan and Haryana agreed on the corridor plan. Once completed, Namo Bharat trains will run between Delhi and Alwar, making travel in the NCR region faster and easier. The corridor will begin at Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and pass through Munirka, Aerocity, Gurugram, Bawal, SNB, Khairthal, and Alwar. Another section from SNB will extend to Sotanalat via Neemrana and Behror. This corridor will facilitate traffic between Delhi and major industrial cities of Rajasthan and Haryana.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the 'Metro Monday' initiative on Monday. At the launch, Gupta travelled by metro from Kashmere Gate to ITO station and then boarded an electric feeder bus to the Delhi Secretariat. Cabinet ministers Parvesh Verma and Ravindra Indraraj also accompanied her on the journey. The initiative, launched under the 'Mera Bharat, Mera Yojnad' campaign, aims to promote the use of public transport and encourage fuel savings. On the first day of the campaign, several ministers and senior officials of the Delhi government used the metro and other public transport services to reach their offices.
